About

Who we are

USFans is a small editorial desk based in Austin, Texas. Maya Reynolds founded the site in 2019 after years of testing USB fans in apartments without central air. Our testing team orders and hands-on tests USB fans, neck fans, clip fans, tower fans, and portable cooling gear.

We publish five-point reviews, side-by-side comparison tables, and buying guides. Every featured product is ordered at retail, opened on camera, and logged with an intake date.

Our desk

Maya Reynolds is editor-in-chief and sets the testing calendar. Daniel Okafor is reviews editor and runs the daily review queue. Priya Raman is research editor and verifies specs, manuals, and SKUs before publication.

How we test

Our testing team built a climate room in East Austin in 2020. We measure airflow at 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m, noise at five speeds, and battery runtime under a 2.5 W load. We also run a 30-day dorm-room simulation and a 14-day car-cabin heat cycle.

What we cover

  • USB desk fans and clip fans

  • Neck fans and wearable cooling

  • Rechargeable tower and floor fans

  • Car and dorm cooling accessories

Reading our coverage

Fan comparisons are organized around airflow at useful distances, noise at the selected speed, mounting stability and battery runtime under the stated load.
